Poisonous chemical agents fired from water cannons by HK police. But police denied and refused to take responsibility
Based on the self-explanatory video clip, the water cannon truck lumbered up the road, stopped and squirted poisonous pepper spray solution and targeted people standing in front of it. They were not protesting, still less rioting. Some of them were reporters, some of them Muslims who were there to protect the Mosque.
1. The police did not follow guidelines in using the water cannon. Victims being shot experienced severe skin irritations. Some could not open their eyes after being shot. Medical care was needed for their conditions.
2. The government neither admit their fault nor take any responsibility, and resorted to openly lie that they were only trying to protect the mosque. This is total disrespect to the Muslim community and an attempt to make a fool of HK citizens.
3. No one was held accountable for this incident, let alone any legal consequences.
The HK chief executive Carrie Lam did not pay visit those who were injured, showing utter disregard for the people.
We therefore issue our strongest condemnation! This incident must be fully investigated. The government must stop immediately the use of such "chemical weapon vehicles" and "toxic chemical agents". They shall also end the deployment of their service dogs. For not only did the dogs have no protective gas masks, rendering them unable to serve their duties, but their direct ingestion of the toxic teargas is also a blatant case of animal brutality and mistreatment.
