在1月26日，理大學生會（本會）向全體學生會會員進行問卷調查，收集了同學對第一學期停課期間，同學對於網上教學質素的意見。本會一共收到2,339則回應。
綜合同學的意見，本會對第一學期的網上教學有以下的總結：
1. 網上教學不能發揮與面授課程相同之教學效益，如導修及實驗室課堂等...
2. 為數不少的課目沒有向同學提供任何形式之網上授課；及
3. 教學部門未能向學生提供質素與面授教學可比的網上課程。
因此，學生會正式向理大校方提出以下的要求：
1. 要求校方退回19/20年度第一學期之部分學費；
2. 於19/20年度第二學期採用Pass/Fail 制度，以彌補考評方式與科目目標的可能差距；
3. 於19/20年度第二學期容許同學Late Add/Drop；及
4. 因應教學模式的改動，讓同學能夠自願選擇Deferment。

In 26/1/2020, the students’ union has conducted an online survey via email and online platforms, about the teaching quality of the online teaching courses provided by different departments of PolyU. The union has collected 2,339 responses on students’ general impression and feeling of the semester one online teaching.
From the survey, the union has come to the following conclusion:
1. The online teaching does not have the same teaching efficiency as face-to-face teaching, such as tutorial sections and laboratory sections…
2. Many teaching departments did not provide online teaching in any form.
3. Teaching departments failed to deliver online teaching that can match the teaching efficacy of face to face teaching.
Therefore, the union has come with the following demands for the school:
1. PolyU should refund part of the tuition fee in 19/20 semester one.
2. PolyU should open the pass/fail option for students in semester two.
3. PolyU should open the late add/drop period for students in semester two.
4. In view of the change in teaching approach, the school should allow students to defer according to their will.
