The focal points of the controversy were two highly disputed leaks: that Sparxie is Silver Wolf's final teammate, and that the all-male team fell apart. I didn't want to put myself out there again, but there are now so many rumors about paid enhancements that it's even turned into an aggressive smear campaign against Honkai: Star Rail, accusing HSR of greed — when in fact that's not how it is. I want to tell you the real situation.
1.It's no longer in the form of a weapon DLC — it's now in the form of special Eidolons.
2.Saying "not free" was indeed thoughtless. In fact, most of the subsequent backlash came from that irresponsible phrasing of mine. In reality it's only "purchasable" — but it can still be obtained for free, as long as you don't need enhancements for multiple characters at the same time.
3.Seele didn't completely lie — the cumulative recharge does include exchange tokens. But the cumulative recharge isn't the only way to get them; in fact, barring any surprises, one will be given out for free.
4.Compared to a normal enhancement, these will come with new content in the UI, skill animations, sound effects, and so on, rather than a plain numbers adjustment.
5.The candidates are still the same few. As for the meta-related stuff everyone cares about most — I'm honestly not a high-end player and would rather not comment on that.
