Pro Tip for Paper 2

If you want to get better Marks in your world History Questions.

You must give the philosophical background behind any event or issue in question.

For instance, in the question on American war of independence the cleched sentence of role of philosophers and then mentioning 3,4 names.

To make it better you must write about Locke’s role in making an earlier constitution of Carolina and how his arguments on property and liberty became the foundation of American revolution first and then for the American constitution.

The same logic applies for movements or issues in the 19th and 20th century as well.

For instance
For German Unification mentioning Germania of Tacitus to bring out the philosophical basis for emergence of Nationalism.

Or mentioning the roll of Lenin’s writings in the 1900s can be shown for philosophical depth of Russian Revolution.

It will take just a little more effort to get these details noted to your notes but dividends will be huge.

All my value addition notes from Shekhar Bandopadhyay at one place.

I have used only these notes to score 163 in Paper 2.

You will need a base note to use them as value addition though.

These won’t be useful until you practice them rigorously in answer writing.

I have shared two tutorials on how to use them. Links are here
